Dreaming of Catamaran Ownership?
Most catamaran buyers walk into this market with a dream in one hand and a budget in the other — and discover too late that neither was enough.
Years of YouTube, a helpful broker, a survey on the day — it feels like enough. But the broker works for the seller, the survey is limited in time and scope, and the market is full of boats listed at exactly the moment their hidden costs become someone else's problem.
Too many buyers overpay, get ambushed by first-year costs, and find themselves deep in a refit and upgrade cycle they never budgeted for. Not because they weren't careful. Because nobody told them what to look for.
You've earned this dream. Let's make sure the market doesn't take it from you.

When "Passed Survey" Isn't.....
When I was shopping for my own boat, I researched a model that kept coming up — clean listings, good prices, lots of space and a great layout. I was tempted. But I couldn't find reliable information on how it aged. No track record on the issues that show up years 7–10. I walked away.
A friend bought one anyway. It passed the first survey. Then, after purchase, two more surveys still couldn't identify or highlight the problems now showing. By the time it surfaced, he was on his own to diagnose and fix it himself. He's since shared publicly that putting it right cost him $180,000.
That's not one surveyor's mistake. That's proof surveyors — even good ones — aren't equipped to catch model-specific issues. It's exactly the risk my pre-offer assessment process is built to catch early and mitigate — not eliminate entirely, but stack the odds in your favor before you're financially committed.
"I am so glad you pushed me to get the owner and surveyor to assess the steering systems further — and by doing so found a $12,000 problem that would have been missed."

About
Hi, I'm Peter Rollo.
If you're dreaming about catamaran ownership, you're about to make one of the biggest lifestyle and financial decisions of your life.
I've spent 25 years evaluating and negotiating used assets at high volume. Then I bought a Leopard 48, lived aboard, and cruised 12,000+ nautical miles with my partner and young son. I know what these boats cost to buy, own, refit upgrade and sail.
My mission is simple: help future catamaran owners make better decisions before the expensive mistakes happen.
I represent buyers, not sellers. No broker commissions. No seller affiliations. Just independent advice, practical education and complete confidentiality.
